This policy covers the Cupelic waiting list. If you give us your email to join, here is exactly what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.
Short version: we collect your email address to add you to the waiting list and to email you when an invite or launch is ready. We don't sell or share it, we send nothing but those transactional emails, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data at any time — just email hello@cupelic.ai.
Who we are
Cupelic is an early-stage product built by an individual founder based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Cupelic is the data controller for the waiting-list information described here. You can reach us at hello@cupelic.ai.
What we collect
Only your email address, submitted through the waiting-list form on this site. We don't ask for your name, and we don't run advertising or analytics trackers that build a profile of you.
Why we use it (and our lawful basis)
We use your email for two things only:
- To record that you've joined the Cupelic waiting list.
- To email you a launch or early-access invitation, and occasional updates directly about that invite.
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time (see Your rights below); withdrawing it doesn't affect anything we did with your data beforehand.
Who processes and stores it
The waiting list runs on Clerk (Clerk, Inc.), which stores and manages the email addresses on our behalf as our data processor. Clerk processes the data only on our instructions. You can read how Clerk handles data at clerk.com/legal/privacy. Depending on Clerk's infrastructure, your email may be stored on servers outside the UK; where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards Clerk maintains for international data transfers.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share or rent it to anyone for their own marketing.
- We don't send marketing from third parties.
- We send only transactional email tied to the waiting list — no newsletters you didn't ask for.
How long we keep it
We keep your email for as long as the waiting list is active and until we've invited you or the product launches. If you ask us to remove you, or if we wind the waiting list down, we delete your email. In any case we won't hold it longer than we need it for the purpose above.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe — leave the waiting list.
- Access — ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectify — ask us to correct it.
- Erase — ask us to delete it.
- Withdraw consent — which we treat the same as asking to be removed.
To exercise any of these, email hello@cupelic.ai and we'll action it promptly. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
The product itself
This policy covers the waiting list only. Cupelic's editing product will handle video footage and related data, and when it launches we'll publish a fuller privacy policy covering that before you upload anything. Joining the waiting list involves none of it — just your email.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes to how we use waiting-list data will be notified to the email you gave us.
